Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,--Hebrews 12:1

Light at the end of the tunnel

There are only a few days of school left until summer! These are the days that convince me year-round school would be a terrible idea. It's not that the kids are horrible. They're just ready to be done. When the weather turns warm and days get longer, it's just super tough to keep kids on task.

But today, some of my kids told me they only have 5 days left...only 5 days. The kids who have missed more than 2 days will have a few more than that, but only a few. So I just have to keep the energy level up for another few days. This week, I've been totally exhausted when the day ended. But I just have to keep it up for another few days.
" 23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." -- Colossians 3:23-24

This last month is even crazier because of all the extra stuff going on. Sports tournaments, award ceremonies, banquets, baccalaureate, graduation and other events keep us busy and on the go constantly. But it's all worth it. Working with kids is the most rewarding work I've ever done.

So even though it's tough and exhausting as we come into the home stretch, I'll keep going, working to try to get the kids to learn something every day. They're worth it, and there's light at the end of this tunnel.
