Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,--Hebrews 12:1

RWA Races in February

You might have noticed that we didn't run any races in January this year, but we're going to make up for that. The simple fact is, there just aren't a lot of races in this area to choose from during the first month of the year. Last year we ran in Danville, but that race was in the morning and Amanda was killed that night. I don't think we'll be running that one again. It wasn't a bad race, just one that brings back some really tough emotions.

So we're running two races in February to make up for not running in January. This Saturday, I'll be running the River Trail 15K in North Little Rock. This race is part of the Arkansas Road Runners Clubs of America's Grand Prix Series. It's also going to be my first 15K race so I'm guaranteed a PR (personal record) for the distance!

The following weekend, February 11th, Janice and I will both be running the Valentine's Day 5K in Russellville, AR. This race will take place on the trails of the Bona Dea Wildlife Sanctuary and is also part of the ARRCA Grand Prix Series.

We might not have run any races in January, but our racing season begins in earnest this weekend. Two races this month, then another two scheduled for next month, then we'll see what the future holds after that.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."--Philippians 4:13

God is so great! It's only by the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ that we're able to keep running and racing.
