Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,--Hebrews 12:1

Soaring Wings Fundraiser with The Gathering

So many times I hear people say kids are bad these days, but I beg to differ. Working as a teacher, I get to interact with lots of students from different backgrounds. Since Amanda died, I've been humbled by the love and compassion shown to me and my family by students at our high school and others in the area. This fundraiser is just one more example of that love and compassion.

Several students at our school, including one whom I've had the pleasure to teach, have started a worship band called The Gathering. The four teenagers came together from different churches to "play our hearts out to God for His praise and glory," they proclaim on their Facebook page.

These young men approached me after seeing what we're doing here at Running with Amanda and asked if they could do a benefit concert to raise money for our cause. We gladly agreed and now the event is set!

"Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs." --Psalm 100:2

We'd be honored to have you join us at First Baptist Church in Vilonia on May 7, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The Gathering will be playing, I'll serve as the MC, and we'll play, sing, and fellowship to honor our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

There will be a table set up to accept donations to Soaring Wings Ranch, the Christian youth home we raise funds for, and tables with refreshments and t-shirts for sale.

All are welcome and we'd love to see you there!
