Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,--Hebrews 12:1

VHS Blood Drive Nets 78 Pints

Today the Vilonia High School chapter of Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) hosted a blood drive for the American Red Cross in the high school gym. This event was held "In loving memory of Amanda Marie Allison." Seventy-eight pints of blood were donated, blood that could potentially save 234 lives according to Red Cross representatives.

"Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship."--Romans 12:1

Amanda, who would have graduated in May had she not been murdered, was a member of FCCLA and always worked at the chapter's blood drives. "Amanda would be proud," noted club sponsor Stephanie Ramsey in a Facebook status update describing the success of the event.

May God bless all those who donated blood today, all those who worked to make the event successful, and all those who will receive the donated blood.
